Palladium [Pall]:

- Jan Scholten

I sparkle so I am alive or Glittering prizes

Palladium is the first element in the Silver series that is relatively well known. But even here the group analysis can add a whole new dimension to the already well known symptoms. The need for compliments is explained within its proper context, which makes it easier to differentiate between similar remedies such as Calcarea sulphurica a.o.

Signature This metal has been named after Pallas Athene, the Greek goddess of wisdom (Silver series). It was discovered in 1803, shortly after the discovery of an asteroid which was also named after Pallas.

Palladium is used to make electrical points and surgical instruments because it doesn't rust. Its rigidity makes it useful in crowns and bridges to replace broken teeth. Very thin Palladium membranes are used in Hydrogen filters.

Essence: successfully showing your work of art, glittering prizes.

Successfully showing your works of art

They feel that they will finally succeed in showing what they can do. They know what they are worth and are fully confident in putting it across to the public. They are sure that they have enough inspiration to create something that will be a success.

The actor plays his part brilliantly and he gets a standing ovation. Their exhibition is a success, they receive the recognition they deserve. Their Ph.D thesis is a success and their speech is received with great applause.

Performance is easy, it comes naturally

Their performance speaks for itself, they were made to perform.

Even in childhood they loved to act and they love being the centre of attention. They hardly know what stage fright is and they revel in the attention they are getting, all eyes and ears must be focused on them.

Ambition makes them want to be the centre of attention: pride They like to get all the attention, but also all the praise. They want to hear they have done well and they like to be flattered.

They don't only want to be the best, they also want to hear that they are the best. Their position needs to be acknowledged by others.

Rigid pride

Their honest conviction that they are brilliant and talented can easily turn into pride. They start to speak with the air of someone who has made it. They may even become quite dictatorial towards newcomers, making sure they also know the score. They love appearing in front of an audience, being with large groups of people, the more people that admire them the better. They sparkle at parties, only to arrive home completely exhausted and alone.

Humiliated when they can't sparkle

They have no doubt about the fact that they are brilliant and that they should be admired and honoured, but they sometimes doubt whether others will realise this fact. They feel very humiliated if they aren't the centre of attention and they can get quite jealous of the successes of other artists. They get annoyed when they aren't invited to large parties. This type of humiliation is hard for them to bear and it makes them very angry.

Successful and alone

They tend to be quite lonely, there is little contact with other people. They have difficulty being sociable to other people because they feel so superior to the common man. Because of this they prefer to be on their own.

The sportsman who has reached the top

This is the stage in which the sportsman has really made it. He is standing on the highest platform, receiving the first prize.

It can also be the sportsman who stays at the top year after year. He exudes an air of being invincible and all his opponents are too impressed to break through and win. These are people like Eddy Mercks, Bjorn Borg and Carl Lewis, to name but a few.

DD: Silver series, Stage 10. DD Rhodium: has more doubts, is nervous about things going wrong at the last minute. Palladium hardly doubts his abilities, he is convinced that it will go all right. If there is any doubt it is about his audience, whether they will realise his excellence. DD Pride: Other remedies in the Silver series don't have quite as much pride as Palladium. Palladium knows he is successful, the question is whether others know this too. Case A 50 year old man suffers from from cystitis. There is no pain during urination, but he experiences a sensation of pressure at the root of the penis and an urging to urinate when he drives over rough ground. The glans is red and slightly inflamed. These complaints started after his left testicle was removed because of a malignant tumour. He also had gonorrhoea in the past. he loves to go out, to chat and to flirt. He loves company, it makes him feel less nervous. He had been married for ten years when he got divorced because they had both started a relationship with someone else, this was very much the trend at the time. He has been living together with this woman for 10 years but he still feels himself to be a bit of an adventurer. He describes himself as playful and he has travelled a lot, partly due to his job as a representative. Generals Weather: cold big toes; (>) and (>) sea.

Desires: meat, alcohol.

Aversion: milk, kohlrabi (2), salted herring (2).

Sleep: good, usually on his right side; dreams about being pursued.

Analysis

The cancer of the left testicle is an indication for the Silver series. This fits with his job as a representative. The anxiety relieved by company is typical of Palladium, which also fits the rest of his behaviour: strong sexual feelings, flirting, desire to talk, going out, playful. Platina is another possibility but it has more emphasis on power and it is a right sided remedy.

Reaction

After Palladium 1M he gets an aggravation that lasts two days. After that he starts to improve and his mental emotional state gets much better too.

Case

A 50 year old woman suffers from tiredness. Her tiredness and anxiety are ameliorated in company and aggravated when she is alone (Palladium). When she is very busy she tends to get ill. As a child she felt unaccepted, different (Gold and Silver series) from the other children, she didn't fit in with the other 12. Her mother always told her: We found you behind a big cabbage in the field. She can't stand it when other people ignore her, or when they don't turn up for an appointment, it makes her very angry.

She dreams about well known people (Palladium, Argentum); also that she finds a little baby and proudly (Silver and Gold series) shows it to others.

She is cold and feels worse from 1 pm (Palladium, Argentum) to 4 pm. She has an aversion to kohlrabi (Palladium, Argentum), fat and apples, and feels worse after French cheese, egg white, coffee and fish.
