WHITE CHESTNUT :Bach Remedies

- Dr. D.V. Krishnamoorty.

Examples of cases in which this remedy can be used with beneficial effects:

(i) Cases of mental derangement in which the patient talks to himself; or, he talks repeatedly on one and the same subject;

(ii) unwanted thoughts, repeating themselves and obsessing the mind;

(iii) actions that have become undesirable habits such as repeatedly twitching the eyelids; jerking the head in a particular direction;

(iv) counting one to hundred;

(v) making plans involving calculations, that never materialises; plan is good, performance poor.

(vi)excitement and consequent nervousness; trembling after excitement; excessive joy (Vervain) (also the remedy Coffea in homoeopathy)

(vii)making preparations in the mind but failing to carry out in practice.

(viii) Delusions, illusions, hallucinations, seeing ghosts, hearing voices.

In the gramophone, record, when there is a scratch we find that the same portion ( a word or two forming a rhyme) is repeated over and over again, and naturally this is annoying. This is repeating of one and the same rhyme should be kept in mind while studying the various conditions that can be cured by White Chestnut.

We happened to come across a lady in a textile shop who acted oddly. She rotates her face first left to right to make a full round; then she does no in the other direction viz. right to left as far as she could. This will be repeated again and again. This is an excellent example if the symptoms of this remedy. Occasionally, we do come across some persons who constantly twitch their eyes. Some shake their heads; other jerk one forearm. A person opens the pen, close it and again opens it; something impels him to repeat the action without any purpose. A sort of bad habit to repeat actions. He switches on the light, then immediately switches it off and puts it on. He steps out of the house, then steps in, and again steps out.

A curious thing is that he does it a definite number of times. He takes some movements of a part of his body voluntarily and repeats them again and again.

A peculiar feature of such persons is that they stop the acts as soon as they realise that they are being observed.

White Chestnut is one of the remedies having frequent use.

Excitable or excitement is one of the key-notes for this remedy. To give an example, a person has to appear before an interview board on a certain date or has to give a talk for the first time. For three or four days prior to that, he converses in his mind with the members of the interview committee. He makes up his mind how best he will answer this question or that, he tells himself that he must be careful in listening to them, and so on. In imagining he frequently appears before the interview board, a sort of rehearsal which involves repetition. But, when at last he actually appears before the board, nothing comes to his mind. He is at a loss for words.

White Chestnut, Scleranthus and Hornbeam compared.

For the symptom repeating the same thing over and over again Scleranthus too sometimes fits in and, therefore, it is well to bear in mind the difference. One of the best examples is that he gets into his car and before starting it, tells to himself that he should start it only after a vehicle with a particular number, (say 9 having as the last digit) should pass him. As soon as such a vehicle passes he does not start the car but tells himself that one more vehicle should pass, and so on. This is not White Chestnut but Scleranthus. He shakes his head in a jerky manner; then says to himself that he will do once more only; but no sooner he repeats it he would again say once more only and on. Though superficially it may look like a case for White Chestnut, that remedy will not have any effect but Scleranthus only can cure.

My mind becomes completely blank in the examination hall declares the student. But, after coming out of the examination hall, the answers come to his mind and he wonders how he could have forgotten such simple answers. This is because, once he comes out of the examination hall, he is no more in a state of excitement. Here too, Scleranthus cannot be ignored for it runs closely to White Chestnut. In the case of mental states where White Chestnut is useful in the examination hall, the fact that he has to answer the questions one by one also disappears from his mind. But, in the case of Scleranthus, the answer do not come before the minds eye, though it is a well known answer and however hard he may rack his brains he fails to recollect it.

In Scleranthus types things do not come to the mind, in White Chestnut type, even the fact that he is in the course of a particular act is taken away from his mind - a sort of being blank.

In some types of question papers, two alternative answers are given in brackets after each question, and the student is required to tick one of the two, as the correct answer. If he is unable to decide which one of two answers is correct, he may take a dose of Scleranthus. In some types of quiz or contest two alternative answers, both appearing to be the correct ones, are given. We cannot easily decide between the two. This is an exact picture of Scleranthus.

In the case of White Chestnut mental states even the fact that he should answer the questions disappears from his mind. His hands do not co-operate in writing.

The Hornbeam type of person is diffident of undertaking anything owing to a feeling of lack of strength, but once he has started he does well. Will I be able to answer the thirty questions with such lengthy answers in two hours time? This sort of fear or nervousness is only before the examination. But he does it well in the examination hall.

Though Rescue Remedy is recommended for interviews, stage fright, etc. White Chestnut is a better remedy if the mind becomes blank on account of excitement. Scleranthus is equally effective in such conditions provided the answers or things do not come before the minds eye however hard may he may try.

Among children, you will find they go on talking to themselves. But, the moment they find that you are observing them they stop it. We find a similar thing in psychic cases. White Chestnut is one of the frequently useful remedies in cases of mental derangement, because in a fair percentage of cases, we find that they are arguing or talking to themselves.

Crab Apple and White Chestnut Compared:

Things to be removed or got rid of: Crab apple is in respect of physical things, such as a wart, pimple, gray hair etc. that make him look ugly; White Chestnut is in respect of mind-thoughts which are to be removed because of the undesirable nature. In cases of frequent urination where White Chestnut is indicated, it is not the urine that he wants to get rid of, (which means Crab Apple) but the thought of the frequent necessity to get rid of it is causing mental irritation; it is the mental feeling of urging to urinate that he wants to get rid of and he is not concerned with the accumulation of urine. The irritable state of mind or restlessness is caused by the urging and it passes of only after passing the urine.

He wants to get rid of a certain thought because it is undesirable or disturbs his mind when he has to concentrate on other matters. This is because the mind can concentrate on one matter only at a time. When the unwanted thought automatically appears before his mind, he is unable to concentrate on the work on hand.

(Banish unwanted thoughts with non-habit-forming pills. White Chestnut was sold with this slogan under some brand name sometime ago. Rescue remedy is being sold at a higher cost and in the form of attractive tablets and colorful packing with the brand name Life Saver by a Bombayite and the three remedies for weakness viz. centuary, Hornbeam and Olive mixed together is also sold by him under the pseudo-Hindu philosophy brand name Shiv Shakti.)

White Chestnut is one of the frequently useful remedies for difficult concentration. A young person of 28 said: I am unable to say my prayers properly. When I sit and try to concentrate, various unwanted thoughts comes to my mind. White Chestnut was given to him, which, to his astonishment, also cured him of his constipation, in addition to helping him to concentrate in his prayers.

Scleranthus is another remedy for difficulty in concentration, when several thoughts of ideas intrude into one another producing a sort of confusion and so the person is unable to concentrate on one particular thing because of being unable to decide which one course to follow or thing to do first.

The symptom Constantly attempts something and achieves NOTHING comes under the homoeopathic remedy Cantharis. This symptom is fully covered by Scleranthus. In the former remedy, you have to examine the patient whether his other symptoms are also covered by it, whereas in the case of the latter, you can straightway give the remedy on this single symptom alone.

Anxiety, if it is constantly about one and the same thing. A lady was scolded harshly by her husband for having taken some money from his purse without informing him. (Actually she forgot to tell him on his return home) she was shocked at the reprimand, sat on a corner, noticed nothing and went on grumbling in a lamenting manner: You went so far as to call me a thief. A Bach practitioner gave her star of Bethelehem for the shock but it had no effect. On our suggestion he gave White Chestnut and it cured her, and brought her back to her normal frame of mind. Though it is a shock, we have to examine the exact picture of the patient for prescribing the flower remedies. (We are tempted to quote here the equivalent phrase in homoeopathy that Removal of totality-of-present-symptoms means removal of the cause)

It is not the shock that made her to grumble but she was already in a state of White Chestnut symptoms and the shock only aggravated her state.

Constantly thinking of one thing. A sort of mental preoccupation. Frequent urination has often been cured by this remedy when his mind is constantly on it.

Let us listen to the words of some patients needing this remedy: I feel frequent urge of urination; even every half-an- hour. When I have to go on a long journey, say a bus journey for hours together, I have to go to and request the driver to stop the bus for me to get down and urinate.

Constant repetition - this can be extended to physical symptoms also; constant paroxysmal cough, for example. A child was treated by allopaths for pneumonia; though they cured the child of the fever, nothing could be done to control the cough; after trying various cough syrups in large quantities, they came to a homoeopath who happened to be practising Bach flower remedies too. The child was constantly coughing and every spell of the cough was of the same type. A dose of White Chestnut stopped the cough and made the child sink into sound sleep. The parents were surprised because the child had been sleepless for several nights by reason of the cough. After this incident, they almost worshipped the practitioner with reverence. (There are many persons such as astrologers, numerologists who are minting money with flower remedies; the reason is that astrologers and gurus are given much reverence because of their capacity to do miracles and since flower remedies do act in miraculous way it is no wonder that many of those practising flower remedies have become bhagwans Babas etc.

All spasmodic pains, jerking of limbs in the same direction, (whether voluntary or involuntary), cramps, involuntary shaking of heads, all can be cured with White Chestnut, if the nature of the symptom is the same when repeated.

Constant headache, constant itching of skin. Itching changes location after scratching is covered by Scleranthus (Mezereum, Staphysagria etc. in homoeopathy) Whenever a person is constantly thinking of his complaints, then White Chestnut is the remedy which not only removes the thinking, but also that very complaints of his.

Hiccup has often been cured by this remedy. Many times with a single dose of White Chestnut! It must be remembered that in acute diseases the very first does gives effects, though for completely curing, it may have to be repeated in a very few cases. There is no such thing as the first dose not acting and only the second or third dose showing its action.

Though we have not tried in periodical return of complaints we hope the readers will agree that white chestnut should be a useful remedy in complaints that repeat automatically at certain fixed intervals. Intermittent fevers tertian, quotidian, double tertian. Weekly headache. Neuralgia that appears daily at the same time (in homoeopathy, the remedy is Kali bich.)

His mind becomes restless if he does not pass urine when he urge comes. It is similar to Crab Apple; but the White Chestnut type or person wants to get rid of urine because by so doing the irritableness caused by the urging disappears.

White Chestnut has helped in many cases of insomnia too. If the mind is constantly thinking of something, or unwanted thoughts come into the mind - this is described as sleepless due to worries.

Another patient, a housewife this time. She said: Before going to bed I invariably clean the utensils used during the day (in cooking). If I postpone the task to the next morning, I will be thinking of it throughout the night and this will not allow me to sleep. Therefore, even if I am dead-tired, I finish the cleaning of the utensils before going to bed.

White Chestnut was given to her with instructions to take it, if she was sleepless on any particular night because of the necessity to postpone the utensil cleaning to the next morning. This cured her insomnia on such days. Later, she also remarked: Formerly I would go on worrying if any piece or work had been left unfinished, but nowadays, I don't.

Lamenting involves weeping and at the same time, repeatedly telling others about the cause. White Chestnut covers the symptom lamenting.

Another patient: If I go to a movie, before the movie starts I invariably go to the toilet and empty my bladder; otherwise, if the urge comes during the show, I would be constantly thinking of it and so cannot enjoy the movie fully till the time of interval when also I have to do it.

A certain nervous boy feels difficulty in learning shorthand because of his jerking hand. He cannot carry two cups of coffee to a room where several people have to be served. He says, out of twenty-four hours in a day, during twenty-three hours, I would be thinking of the nervous state of my hands. (In homoeopathy, the remedy ignatia covers this symptom.)

Excitement causes nervousness, trembling. Therefore, for any complaint that is aggravated by mental exertion, or anxiety or excitement, White Chestnut may be suitable. This state occurs in excessive joy also. The patient may say: I do not find words to express my joy.

After returning home from a movie or attending a function or an interview or giving an important dance or music performance (in the case of artists) the person retires to bed. All the scenes or some of them repeatedly appear before his minds eye.

Spontaneously she sings a rhyme in a song she has heard, and she chatters it - goes on repeating. She may suddenly realise it that repeating one and the same thing in bed and exerts herself to control it; but no sooner does he attempt to divert her attention to another matter, the rhyme comes on. or, a person with a bad habit - movements of body - tries to control it and he may succeed in his attempt; but no sooner he exerts his mind on some-other thing the habit occurs automatically.

My dead child is still before my eyes. The routinist gives Star of Bethlehem and fails.

I loved a man whom I could not marry. Now I am married to another person and both of us love each other; I know, it is bad to think of the former lover whom too I loved so much; but the thought of him comes though I don't want it. White Chestnut is to be given to this lady. (Some routinist may try Chicory or Cherry Plum but it will fail. Chicory is to be given to her if she has a desire to go to the first lover). To master or memorise the picture of various remedies, it is better to compare various instances of our daily life with the flower remedies. A story or a novel, or any incident in our day-to-day life.

Unwanted thought or same thought repeating itself.

If the reader has gone to a movie then the advertisement slide shown during the interval in cinema theatres will be the best example. A slide appears suddenly on the screen, remains fixedly there for some moments and suddenly disappears. We wont know what would be the next slide.

Similarly, his parent or guru appears before his minds eye vividly and all of a sudden; and after some moments disappears.

It is the White Chestnut type of persons who say: During prayers by closing my eyes and closely concentrating, the Ambal (female deity) appears before me (his minds eye) for a moment If White Chestnut is given to him the Ambal will no more appear. Not only this; he will find that some of his related physical complains, such as insomnia or frequent urination also disappears. This need not be repeated again and again. But the same type of figure (of guru or deity) may all of a sudden appear even at long intervals. Sometimes, every one of us would have had the experience of as if my mothers or fathers voice called me. If this is not repeated and even only once, it is still a symptom of White Chestnut but in a milder degree. (We must bear in mind that either in homoeopathy or Dr. Bachs system we are not concerned with the seriousness of the complaint for finding a remedy but we are concerned with similarity or exactness of symptoms. If a case of White Chestnut is serious then we may have to urgently give White Chestnut, but not a remedy more effective than White Chestnut is called for. For example in a case of fever with 99.5 degree the symptoms of the patient may call for Chicory by the fact that she wants her head pressed by someone dear to her. If this symptom is present in another case of 108 degree temperature, the same Chicory will cure. We have no such thing as better remedy or effective remedy among the thirty-eight remedies. Any remedy may be the best remedy for a patient if he has those symptoms in him. Moreover, it must be stressed here that the symptoms of the patient at one and the same time are covered by one remedy only (though on giving it, his symptoms may change pointing to another remedy) There has never been a case where a patient exhibited his mental states requiring more than one remedy at a particular time.

Just imagine the cinema advt. slide and think for a moment how bad it would be if the slide does not change and constantly the same slide is on the screen; or, the same slide appears on the screen after disappearing. No one would like it as it would become a boring affair. So also, the White Chestnut patient is bored because he is haunted by one and the same though that revolves in his mind.

For monomania Dr. Boerickes Repertory gives Ars.; Aur.; Caust.; Cic.; Ign.; Nux v.; and Puls. (homoeopathic remedies). White Chestnut covers this symptom, if of a repeated or constant nature. (Crab Apple type of person too is particular or maniac about one particular thing; but he wont be constantly on it and moreover the thing he is concerned about will be of a trivial nature compared to other more important or great things which he is prepared to sacrifice for the sake of that one particular trifle. These differences are not analysed and, therefore, it is not wonder that many persons go back saying sour grapes after trying the flower remedies in a routine way by looking at symptoms superficially. One can, of course, practise these very easily and in a routine way, but for so doing he requires a year or two of vigorous training).

Here is a monomaniac case whose symptoms would exactly depict the symptoms of White Chestnut: He is particular about money or wastage. If he gives him a rupee to his wife then she should produce the bus-ticket as an evidence for having spent the money and return him the balance. If a jar or a plate is broken, he will go on lamenting about it. He sold an old ceiling fan to his brother-in-law. His mind wont rest until he receives its cost in his hands. He was promised of the payment in a few days. But the very next day, he visited four times for getting the money. If an unforeseen expenditure is to be incurred, after spending the money which is inevitable, he will go on regretting over it.

Life is full of events that go on changing. There wont be any interest in it if we could know in advance what we would be doing tomorrow or the next moment. Nor will we be happy if we go on doing the same thing over and over again. At first it might be interesting. Christmas or Deepavali when celebrating once a year is really joyful. But just imagine what it would be like if every day were Christmas; it would be boring.

DELUSIONS, HALLUCINATIONS, ILLUSIONS - all affording an excellent field for White Chestnut. You can become as a god to others when they find that you drive away all evils spells by giving simply water with your hands (to which you have secretly added the remedy).

A Bach practitioner reports a case in the very words of the patient:

Whenever I look at a male I find a female sex organ in his face; whenever I look at a female, I see a male organ in her face.

The above patient also complained of a devil haunting him. It would suddenly appear on his right side (delusion) and scold him (hallucination). Then it would disappear some moments later he would all of a sudden hear a voice and on looking in the direction from which the voice came, he would find it there, abusing him in the same vulgar words. To avoid the devil he would go to another room; but, after a pause the devil would appear before his eyes.

Besides the above trouble, the patient had many physical complaints such as piles, insomnia, peptic ulcer, rheumatism, etc. When he started taking White Chestnut four times a day, not only did the devil appear less and less frequently, but the sufferer also noticed considerable improvement in his physical condition.

It would generally be said of the above person that he was possessed of a devil or under the influence of an evil spell cast on him.

It must be noted here that in cases of delusions similar to the above quoted case, the person is not afraid of it; if he is afraid then Mimulus is the remedy. If, on the other hand, he tells; I don't mind it, but I am afraid to be alone with the devil; if someone is with me then I don't bother. This description calls for Chicory which would cure him. We should not fix the word deletion or hallucination in our mind for prescribing a remedy, unless it is of repeated and constant nature and the persons says if only I can get rid of the devil. Delusions and hallucinations--majority of cases agree with the symptoms of White Chestnut and so we have stated in the beginning that White Chestnut is for delusions and hallucinations. It is not so much the delusion that matters but how the person is the affected by the delusion is to be considered for prescribing the remedy.

If a patient wants the greatest regard from the people then he can announce that he will cure all evil casts (by giving White Chestnut). You can drive away all devils and demons with White Chestnut .

White Chestnut Plus Impatiens = Vervain.

In Kents Repertory of the Homoeopathic Materia Medica, for sleeplessness due to thoughts, activity of mind, the same idea always repeated the remedy Coffee is given in italics among other remedies. White Chestnut covers this symptom well and it has many times acted as an antidote to the bad-effects of coffee in those who are sensitive to this drink--trembling, nervousness, excitement, insomnia etc.

A patient is under your treatment and you are unable to cure him. After some days or weeks of treatment he feels dejected and generally you will prescribe Gentian or Gorse. If he is a Gorse patient who does not have faith in your remedy he would not have come to you at all and tried your prescription. After trying your prescriptions for sometimes if he losses the hope, he would discontinue you. If he feels dejected because he has come to you with hope and you have not cured him. Gentian is the remedy for depression or sadness due to setbacks or disappointments. But if only you listen carefully to the words uttered by your patient you will spot the correct remedy. We had such a case and it is worth recalling it now.

This was a case of cancer of the rectum and the patient was completely cured with homoeopathic treatment over a period of two months, with violent return and aggravation of his childhood eczema, which confined him to bed for more than a month, as foretold by us before starting the treatment. After recovering, he had one particular trouble viz., eczematous swelling of right ankle which caused much pain, preventing him from walking easily or climbing stairs. This did not allow him to attend the courts. We thought this would disappear in due course and so declared him cured. He said, You say you have cured me; but now can I go with this pain? We thought it was either fear of getting the pain aggravated by walking for along or a feeling of incapacity or doubt, whether for long or a feeling of incapacity or doubt, whether he had enough bodily strength to walk or use his limbs. Hornbeam and Mimulus were tried but had no effect. At one stage he burst on it, You say flower remedies are effective, but you have not cured the pain. You have taken such a long time but I see no effect. The words You have taken such a long time were meant to blame us (the doctor) Considering the cure of the cancer of his rectum this reoccurrence of his old trouble was nothing. But, instead of appreciating that cure which had eluded several surgeons, he blamed us for not curing this small trouble! (It is very difficulty to satisfy a Willow patient when sick.) To know whether he was the Willow type we asked him how he reacted to others in his profession. He said, Why, I know the judges knows nothing of the law books and I, with such qualifications, experience, knowledge and talent have to stand before that useless person and address him with respect while he is seated in the chair. If a judge is really an incapable person and not fit for that post, then a healthy lawyer will not blame him, but may say it is all luck. This brought to our mind the picture of the willow type person. His characteristic is that he feels his value is not appreciated, and that fortune eludes him, while people much inferior to him are esteemed. Willow completely cured him of the eczema and after that he expressed deep regret for having complaining against us.

Whenever, a patient blames you for slow recovery, give him Willow.

Don't also get confused between the Willow and Beech types of persons. Both condemns others. But while the Beech type stops with criticizing others, the Willow type resents their success. The formers criticism may be about any one, but he does not talk of others in others in comparison with him self. The Willow type feels that compared to others he is ill-placed in life.

Don't trouble me Don't disturb me Don't kill me are the words used by the Willow type of person.

Even in ordinary conversations he will attribute his failures and sufferings to others faults.

All fellows are trouble some No one is doing their duties.

While putting on his shirt he does so inside out and instead of realizing it, curses the tailor on the textile industry that manufactured the cloth. Appreciation approval of good work and similar terms are not in his vocabulary.

A student who has failed in the examinations blames the teacher who evaluated his answer papers. A man who has consulted several astrologers and felt dissatisfied with their predictions grumbles; All of them are useless fellows.

He will travel without a ticket, but will not hesitate to condemn the railway officials for inadequate services. He even calls others names. He tried to repair the electric fan himself though he does not know the ABC of its mechanism. He tinkers with it and when he is unable to carry out the repairs, blames the manufacturers for making a fan with such a complicated mechanism.

He does not accept his silliness of having attempted to repair it himself. In illness, he blames the doctor for not giving quick relief or for charging more without good treatment. He knows only to take huge fees.

A beginner in Bach remedies blames the persons from whom he bought the medicines for supplying sub-standard or wrong medicine whereas the fault really lies in his very selection!

He feels that his children are a burden and so scolds them. (Natural affection lost.)

How much more service can you except me to do for the small amount you pay me.

A shop-keeper always sells goods at a rate higher than others. This may be due to (i) either a desire for more money - CHICORY, or, (ii) Overenthusiasm to make more money and increase his business - VERVAIN; or he is a willow type who would say when people are minting money in various business the profit earned by me is much less.

A willow type of persons can never be happy; never smiles; he can never be satisfied. Dissatisfaction contempt for others are his characteristics. Even if you offer him more than what you give to others in his cadre, still he feels he is given less than his due.

Willow should not be confounded with Holly, Gentian and Beech remedies.

The Holly kind of jealousy is casuals. Jealousy of anothers well being, But the Willow type of person resents the success of others and their well-being because he has not been successful or is not himself happy.

I am suffering because of others.

He may injure himself by tumbling on account of his carelessness or may suffer a loss in business owing to his own lack of prudence. But he would blame somebody else for this.

Wherever natural love turns into aversion or hate, this remedy can be used with benefit.

Aversion to food, aversion to wife, and family members.

Look at the man who starts disliking his wife. He blames his parents for selecting such an ugly or unsuitable girl. Willow will help him to love his wife by removing the contempt from his mind.

If, from the very beginning he hates her just because she is not beautiful, then Beech is the remedy which will make him tolerant of her appearance and help him to appreciate the good qualities in her. After all, each, and every healthy girl and boy are to be married. (see go-getter No.3)

Willow is the direct opposite of Pine.

Some remedies with opposite indications are:

Vine X Century

Agrimony X Cherry Plum/Heather

Beech X Wild Rose

Clematis X Honey suckle (in respect of the time past and future)

Gorse )

Gentian ) X Oak

Vervain )

Vine ) X Water Violet

Quarrels between husband and wife are usually because of one blaming the other. Willow will make them happy. Chicory too is beneficial, especially when the couple become selfish and quarrel over their individual rights.

When a person develops an aversion to the job he has been doing with contentment till now or which is interesting in itself, Willow is to be prescribed for him.

Don't kill me Don't burden me with much.

Fellows with not even a degree are learning large sums. But I, with doctoral degrees, am unable to get a decent job. What a society! But he wont be willing to look at persons with equal or even more qualifications than his but drawing lower salary than his, and thus console himself.

It is really a difficult task to manage a Willow type of person when he is ill. He will not be satisfied with any amount of care and attention that you can give. Willow is the only answer. Without it you cannot manage him. After a dose of Willow, even the least attention bestowed by you upon him is received with much gratitude.

(English translation: Compare thyself with poorer than thou and be glad that thou art wealthier than them. (Don't compare with the richer than thou and crave for more wealth. Be content.)

But when compared to the learned people than thee, feel sublime and crave for more learning. (Feel thy learning is not enough.)

Be proud and content with your wealth. But do not be proud and content with your learning.

Poem No.4 in Needhi Neri

Vilakkam (Correct Way of Living

plained) by Kumara Gurupara digital.

A child cries continuously in the night. The mother scolds it for disturbing her sleep. It may have some trouble such as colic or earache; instead of sympathizing and trying to find out the cause the Willow type of mother scolds it for disturbing her sleep: You devil You have been born to torment me.

Whenever natural love and affection turns to hatred, Willow fits in.

Bitterness or aversion is observed throughout the speech of the person needing this remedy. He finds fault with others. A Beech type of person does this to criticize others. But the Willow type finds with others just as a way to attribute to their own shortcomings.
