Definition :
General paralysis of insane is characterised by progressive muscular weaknessand tremors, accompanied by mental symptoms, often of a grandiose character. TREPANOMA PALLIDUM is the caustive organism.
Symptoms and signs :
Characteristic symptoms and signs are changes in the personality, impairment of memory, delusional ideas, tremors, pupillary changes, speech defects and finally convulsions and generalised weakness. Mental deterioration is the earliest symptom; in some. Objective neurological signs e.g. argyll-ROBERTSON pupils, optic atrophy; orslurring articulation are prominent from the beginning.

This drug presents a state of INTENSE EXALTATION in whichall perceptions and sensations are exaggerated. There is exaggeration of time and space .
False sense, a state of euphoria, uncontrollable laughter . There is crowding of ideas and exuberance of spirits.

Vivid dreams of fire. Short sleep.
Desires to be magnetised, oversensitive to external impressions.

O/E Hair falls out in large bunches, dark rings or blue rings under eyes,oedema of eyelids. Paralysis of fingers and toes especially of left side.
