 Some snakes are loners whilst others appear to be quite sociable. Crotalus horridus in common with other reattlesnakes hibernates in a den which may contain up to three hundred other snakes including copperheads, Cenchris contortrix. Lachesis muta, by contrast, is a solitary snake. However it may be that climate is a factor here.  Crotalus horridus: The low form of delirium, muttering, talking to himself is a peculiar form of loquacity. It differs somewhat from Lachesis. Both have loquacity.
