NASH is bursting at the seams-almost literally, at least that was the case at our 1998 case conference-where so many people wanted to attend that many had to be turned away at the door. The conference, marked by great enthusiasm, energy, passion and scholarship, set the tone and reflects the life of this organization today.
 As more students graduate from homeopathic training programs in North America and join our ranks as professional practitioners, NASH has stepped up to meet them. While some homeopathic associations are closing their doors or maintaining the status quo, NASH is growing. While we have experienced growing pains, we are emerging with a strong infrastructure that is responsive to its members, and useful to students, prospective students and consumers of homeopathy. With a retooled web page (www. homeopathy. org), expanded newsletter, telephone information line, consumer friendly brochure, and last but not least, this latest issue of the American Homeopath, we are reaching increasingly larger numbers of people, and more diverse groups and individuals.
 We have a new and dedicated board of directors led by Miranda Castro as president and a new journal editor, Carolyn Hallett who has capably replaced Greg Bedayn, founding editor of the American Homeopath. Just as the journal continues to reflect Greg's style and innovations, yet reaches out to include the creativity of new writers and practitioners, NASH is striving to incorporate new voices, new perspectives and new focus as we continue into the next century with our goal of strengthening the profession of classical homeopathy and maintaining high standards of training and practice. Please join us in this endeavor, by reading and reflecting on the articles you find here, submitting contributions for next year, participating in our conference, aiding us in political and legislative processes and supporting homeopathic schools, training programs and seminars in your area.
