Development of classical homeopathy in armenia (Ruzanna Gevorgyan)

- Ruzanna Gevorgyan

The Association of Armenian Homeopaths has 100 members. Almost half of the association has a conventional medical education and the rest does not.
Almost 30 members of our organization were trained in classical homeopathy from 1995 to 1997. The training was organized by the Swiss organization "Noraluys," and was taught by European homeopaths. The course consisted of 700 theoretical and 100 practical teaching hours. After completion of the course, training exams were taken and certificates were presented to all participants-those who had conventional medical education as well as to those who did not.
In 1998, one of our members was trained during a study-tour at a Swiss pharmacy which produces homeopathic remedies.
Currently, with support from "Noraluys," two members of our association are in training at one of the European classical schools of homeopathy.
The Association of Armenian Homeopaths was established in 1997, in order to disseminate the science of classical homeopathy among medical professionals as well as the population. Mrs. S. Ter-Sahakyan, MD was elected head of the association. During the first meeting a decision was made to organize training courses in homeopathy to be taught by those who had been trained from 1995-1997. The main focus of the organization was towards recognition of classical homeopathy as a discrete scientific discipline, equal to other medical specialties.
In addition to our association, there is an organization of professional physicians practicing classical homeopathy. This organization was established by one of the largest medical centers in Armenia and has active co-operation with German specialists.
There are individuals who are implementing classical homeopathy in their treatment practice, as well.
As with any new establishment, our association faces several problems, which are difficult to overcome with local efforts.
The main one is the absence of a specialized center, where teaching and treatment of patients can be done through the method of classical homeopathy.
Another problem is the insufficient supply of remedies. We would like to obtain information about companies who specialize in production of homeopathic remedies and are interested in creating representation in countries like Armenia.
We look forward to hearing from anyone who is interested in spreading homeopathy in Armenia. For further information, please contact Ruzanna Gevorgyan at: gevruzhotmail. com
