BOENNINGHAUSEN’S CHARECTERISITICS MATERIA MEDICA AND REPERTORY

• Cyrus Maxwell boger was born on may 13, 1861 in western Pennsylvania.
• He graduated from the Philadelphia college of pharmacy
• He worked as the president of IHA in 1904.
• He translated “Boenninghausen’s characteristics and repertory” into the English language in 1905.
• He made additions to Kent’s repertory.
• In 1915 he wrote a book named “synoptic key and repertory”
• In 1931 he developed the boger general analysis and card repertory, which went through several editions.This repertory consists of 360 cards.
• From 1924 until his death he was in the faculty of the AFH post graduate course.
• Boger uses electrical potentizer to make higher potency of a remedy. Electrical potencies were made on a machine, constructed by Dr.Skcle’s son,of Chicago.
• Boger died at the age of 74, September 2 in 1935. He died from food poisoning after eating a tin of home-pressured tomatoes.
• Dr.C.M .Boger was a leading practitioner of united states in early part of 2oth century.
• He was student and follower of Dr.Boenninghausen.
• In 1900 he translated Repertory of Antipsoric Remedies.
• During the process of translation work,he got thoroughly acquainted with Boenninghausen’s basic principles, plan and constructions,comprehensibility and practicability.
• Boenninghausen’s characteristics and repertory was published by Boericke and Tafel in 1905, in German language.
• Second Indian edition published in 1952.third edition in 1972.

PREFACE PROPER
• Repertory embraces the pocket book,apsoric and the antipsoric repertories,the sides of the body, repertory part of intermittent fever and of whooping cough, as well as large number paragraphs from the aphorisms of hippo crates,properly designated additions have been made from the exigencies of daily practice , but no clinical symptom have been thus admitted.
