GINSENG HOMEOPATHIC REMEDY FOR WEAKNESS

Preparation: tincture and trituration of root.

Clinical: appendicitis, debility, headache, lumbago, rheumatism, sciatica, sexual excitement.

The name is said to signify “resemblance of man’s thigh”. Root is forked like that of mandrake. The natives of Ussuri River use it boiled for headaches, colds, fevers, stomach pain. In America it is domestic remedy for after pains of labour.

J.H. Henry says its action on lower part of spinal cord is indicated by bruised pains in small of the back and thighs (on rising from the bed), and great languor, with paralytic, rheumatic pains in lower limbs, arthritic swelling of the foot, which has been exerted a long time, violent pain in big toe. Nightly digging in right lower limb from hip to big toe, cramps, pains from right hip to toes, lancinating and tearing in right tarsal joint. Stimulant to secretary glands, especially salivary glands. Hiccough. Lumbago, sciatica and chronic rheumatism, with frequent desire to urinate, and sexual excitement.
It is aromatic stimulant, removes feeling of fatigue, imparting a joyous sense of vigor and elasticity to limbs, especially to the upper limbs and clearness of mind. The opposite condition of malaise is also produced. Yawning and drowsiness. Drowsiness with headache. Feeling of extreme heat and intense coldness, longing to expose body to cool air. The right side of body is most effected.

Mind: quite and contended, with good courage. Mind generally calm, but impatient impulses, feat or accidents. Memory weak. Thinking difficult. Disposition to weep, anxiety about future.

Head.--Vertigo, with gray spots before eyes; semi-lateral headache; occipital; difficult opening of eyelids; objects appear double. Vertigo on going down winding stairs. Head seems enlarged and to sway to one side. Drawing in occiput, involuntarily bends head backwards.

Eyes: pupils alternatively large and small. Sensation of fatigue when exposed to light, objects appear double when looked at intensely. Great difficulty in opening eyelids, which are heavy and painful.

Face: alternate redness and paleness. Lips dry, rough, cracked, and bleeding especially lower lip, worse in open air and talking

Mouth: tongue red and smarting with thirst, then white in the middle. Mouth lip, teeth very dry, swallowing of saliva very difficult on account of dryness, swallow of water moistens only for a while.

Throat.--Tonsillitis, just like Bell, but in dark-complexioned people.

Stomach: great appetite at unusual times.

Abdomen.--Tense, painful, rumbling. Pain in right side. Loud gurgling in ileo-cæcal region. Peri typhilitis. Pressure of clothing is unbreable.

Respiratory: voice rough and hoarse, dry cough in paroxysms. Constrictive pain across lower thorax. Frequent deep inspiration and tightness of chest as if he could not get enough air, better while walking.

Male.--Rheumatic pains after frequent emissions. Weakness of genital organs. Voluptuous tickling at end of urethra. Sexual excitement. Dreams vivid and lascivious of which the recollection remains. Pressure in testicles.

Extremities.--Hands feel swollen. Skin feels tight. Contraction. Coldness in back and spine. Bruised pain in small of back and thighs; nightly digging in right lower limb to toes. Burning heat in tips of fingers. Eruption on upper inner thighs. Stiff, contracted joints, heaviness of lower limbs. Crackling in joints. Stiffness in back.
