Proving

During proving it was observed that this drug lowers the frequency of the pulse rate in healthy human beings. In some provers it produced a calm state of feeling, followed by a dis- position to sleep.

Symptomatology

Symptoms come on suddenly with cool, clammy skin.

Numbness of hands and legs when at rest.

Continued chilliness.

Masked periodical diseases, broken down patients.

Cardia sleeplessness, increased muscular energy.

Dry asthma, harassing cough.

Periodic headaches with extreme nervous erethism.

Obstinate intermittents.

Tela aranea was successfully used in a case of a middle aged woman who was diagnosed as a case of Supra Ventricular Tachycardia. Her constitutional remedy was selected as Calcarea ars. During the acute phase Digitalis, Gelsemium failed. Later Tela aranea was given on the following indications and she improved considerably

Rapid pulse rate.

Weakness, want of energy.

It also calmed the patient with a feeling of tranquility.
